1. Purpose of guardian consent
This notice applies when an adult guardian activates or supports an under-16 learner account. It supplements the Terms of Use and Privacy Notice. The guardian confirms that they are authorized to act for the learner and that the learner information supplied is accurate.
2. Guardian responsibilities
The guardian must use their own adult account, accept the relationship request, review this notice, supervise appropriate use and keep account credentials private. A guardian should contact SapiaVault if the relationship is incorrect, their authority changes or the learner’s account may be compromised.
3. Learner protections
The under-16 account remains pending until the guardian link is active and consent is recorded. SapiaVault does not create public learner profiles or peer messaging. Protected content, downloads, commerce and sensitive processing remain subject to server-side account and entitlement checks.
4. Information and communications
The guardian authorizes the processing described in the Privacy Notice for account security, learning delivery, progress, consent, support and age safeguards. SapiaVault may send service communications about verification, security, access and the guardian relationship. Optional marketing requires separate consent.
5. Purchases for a learner
When commerce is enabled, a guardian may pay for one linked learner beneficiary per checkout. The provider-verified payment result controls fulfilment. SapiaVault does not store full card numbers or card security codes, and prepaid membership does not renew automatically.
6. Withdrawal and revocation
A guardian or learner may revoke an active guardian link through account settings, subject to security review. Withdrawal does not invalidate records already required for consent, security, payment or legal purposes. An under-16 learner account returns to restricted status when the required guardian relationship or consent is no longer active.
